Selkie p6 and Fundraisers

Almost done, page 6 of 7. I have been quite good at not looking at my story and picking it apart to say what I should have done or how I wanted it to look. With it being my first finished comic I just have to sit back and tell myself it can only get better right? I was so afraid to ink this by hand that I did it in the computer, I feel that I next time I should just push myself harder and not just pencil it but ink everything!

The Ayden Gallery exhibit is coming to a close soon, I really hope I sold a piece but I wont know till I go on the pick up day. I have to get back there to have one last look before the new exhibit goes up.

The last thing I wanted to say is that the fundraiser for Waterlogged has been going strong! We only have 4 days left and $759 more to raise, I want to thank everyone who blogged and networked this book in full, and for those that opened their wallets and donated, Thank You so much! If you want to know more about the book, or perks available check out the Waterlogged Indiegogo page you can chip in as much as you like or you can grab one of the e-book packages, art, or other options available. I will be posting about a other comic that deserves a good look into maybe next post but check it out before hand too, Comics For A Cause help raise awareness about violence against women.

Selkie p5

Two more pages after this... It too so long to get this done and yet I feel that it is so short, a quick 7 pages to read. I feel that comics is much like animation for me. I studied animation for 3 years, I love it don't get me wrong but it's under appreciated. It takes thousand of frames, long hours, all for one show I often get told by many people it's for kids. If I could get the money together I would gladly go back to school and learn flash more. I know classical, I tend to break programs and have the tech people ask me how did I manage it this time?

Enough with that, do you know what is happening in Vancouver this weekend? No well let me tell you it's the best comic convention this side of Canada! VanCAF is happening! Free to get in again this year with lots of tables to get some cool comics and swag.

Draw-a-Thon - Fundraiser

I did these for the Draw-A-Thon to raise some money for Waterlogged fundraiser. These are still available as a perk. There are still some available from friends and amazing artist alike. If you to on Twitter and search #drawingday there will be posted images.  "Selkie In A Bottle" is one of my faves! I want to make it into stickers and maybe do a set of floklores. I love myths and legends so I'll see what I can do.

I got a sneak peek at Waterlogged! The book looks fantastic, we are almost done setting up the files to print! Also the fundraiser ends it 10 days!!! We still need to raise $1,741 (since I last looked) coming to a close call... keep checking and if you like comics, the sea or water in general go preorder it! I think I might try colouring these some day if they don't sell, if they do I'll try digital.

Selkie p4

This is page 4 of my 7 page comic that will be in black and blue ink in cloudscapes next anthology. I have been biting my nails this month more then ever hoping to see my comic be printed in Waterlogged, well it will be printed but I have been anxiously watching the fundraiser page slowly creep up. We have about $2714 more to raise in about 19 days, it's getting close. If you like comics and water then you will like this one, the book is $35 (with S&H). I love the cover of this book you can opt to just get a 8x10 poster of the book cover too for $20 (with S&H). I was thinking of doing some posters of my story but I don't know what one to choose; or maybe one day I will draw a cover for this and make it a poster, hummm it's always a hard choice.

Sea Monsters in Colour

I managed to get these art cards done on time for the show at the Ayden Gallery for last Friday, but unfortunately they didn't sell. That being said they will be going up on the Cloudscape Etsy store to fundraise for the next book Waterlogged. It's siting a little over half way we just need to raise $ 2784 before the end of the month. I cant tell you how amazing this book will be or the perks you can get from it. With the cover art done by Laura Bifano we are selling a poster of it. I really want one and I think you would too. Being 8x10 full colour it would adore any room beautifully.

Back to my art cards, I have to say I'm pretty damn proud that they turned out. I used water colour on my Manitis Shrimp, I have not painted in water colour in ages. My fish was done all in makers and the Eel-mermaid/ angler fish girl was a mix. The two bigger ones are 4x6 and the smaller one I think is 3x2? I have to go measure them again. Maybe next week I will post up some new sketches, lately I just haven't had the time to finish any of them.

Earring, Necklaces, Steampunk Galore...

Well last month had kept me up on my toes! I had an art show on May 3rd, that by the way is still on display till June 2nd @ the Ayden Gallery. I also had a table at the Time Travel Bazaar I wish I put these up before hand but I lost track of time and well better late then never! I will be selling these though my Etsy Store when I find some time to organize and post them up so check it out and if they aren't up and you want them message me and I'll post them up right then and there!I love Steampunk, the gears the fabric, nearly everything about it makes me all giddy inside. These pieces that I made are more simple for that style, more Victorian but still work wonders with it. I will definitely be doing a lot more with this... so many ideas so little time.

If you haven't notice I love to make and draw things, I really wish I could just stick to one but I just get the itch to dabble in new things. But new origami earrings are made and more is being worked on. I'll leave those for next time! I'm thinking of starting a blog on wine and food, I'm not much of a drinker but some times I get adventurous and buy a new bottle of wine and if I don't drink it I cook with it! I think I will wait a little before I start up that project and get this one more consistent first!
